To be eligible for a refinance with Mode, you must meet the following criteria: 

  • Current loan must have at least 12 months remaining 
  • Remaining balance must be > $10,000 
  • Vehicle must be no more than 9 years old and have less than 100,000 miles 
  • You must be current on your auto loan payments
  • Current loan cannot be financed by GM Financial or AmeriCredit

The process is easy with Mode.

  • Complete the prequalification application; no impact to your credit.
  • If you prequalify, we’ll direct you to the full credit application where we’ll ask you for a bit more information. Submitting this application will result in a hard hit to your credit.
  • Review and customize your offer. You’ll have the option of purchasing ModePlus GAP to help cover what insurance doesn’t in the event of a total loss to your vehicle and ModePlus VSC extended protection. You might know this as an extended warranty. You can include those payments right in your loan.
  • Upload any documents we may need, such as a copy of your Driver’s License or proof of income.
  • Sign your contract electronically and you’re all set!

While we can’t guarantee savings until we get some information from you, we may be able to get you a payment you’ll like.

Most applicants will have a decision within 24 hours.

Once you’re approved and sign your contract electronically, you’ll become part of the GM Financial family. You’ll receive welcome information from us confirming things like your monthly payment, first payment due date and instructions on how to set up your online account.

You don’t want to be saddled with major repair bills in the event of a mechanical breakdown. ModePlus VSC, or Vehicle Service Contract, pays for covered repairs after the manufacturer's warranty expires. 

In the event of a total loss on your vehicle, ModePlus GAP, or Guaranteed Asset Protection, can help cover you where the insurance settlement is less than the outstanding balance of your loan.

You can purchase one or both optional products when you apply with Mode. Payment will be included in your loan, so there’s no upfront cost.
